The Lilac City Invitational ran from July 5-8, 2018 at the Fairways Golf Course in Cheney, WA, with the usual challenges faced by all 78 golfers – heat, windy conditions, fast greens, a strong field and tight fairways. Still the cream rose to the top as 23 year old, Vinnie Murphy, who turned Pro on Wednesday, July 5 shot a final day score of -4 under (68) and finished with a four day total of 274, -14 under to secure his first victory as a Pro by winning $10,000 prize money, holding off Li Wang (67) 275 (-13) & Shane Prante (68) 275 (-13) tied for second place and just one stroke back. Great to see and follow the final threesome of the day with Clarkston’s, Drew Reinland,, who finished fourth overall (-9), along with Freeman HS Graduate, Dylan Maine, who finished the week  -5 under.  Congratulations to all the winners, participants and volunteers who make this a great event including the El Katif Shriners who worked hard to raise $9000 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children – Spokane
